1.The concept of electric heat tracing and its application in the oil and gas industry
Electric heat tracing refers to the use of electric energy to supplement the heat loss of the object to be accompanied by heat in the process, so as to maintain its temperature within a certain range. It is worth noting that in the oil and gas industry, electric accompanying heat is not used to increase the temperature of medium, it is mainly used in anticoagulation, antifreeze and process heat preservation.
(1)Anti-condensation
For the crude oil and other high condensation point medium, if its heat source is suddenly out of order (power drop or shut down), stops the transmission or due to the ambient temperature's drastic reduction, with its heat dissipation, there is a possibility that the condensation accident occurs because of its temperature is lower than the condensation point. The electricity accompanies the heat to prevent this kind of accident.
(2)Anti-freezing
For the medium such as water, the electricity accompanies the heat system can make it in the most unfavorable situation, such as the static or the flow reduces and so on also has the safe temperature which is higher than its freezing point and so on.
(3)Process heat preservation
If the temperature requirement of process medium is more strict, the temperature drop along the pipeline is required to be controlled in a certain range, when the heat preservation layer can not completely satisfy this requirement, the use of electric accompanied by heat method can better solve this problem.
2.electric accompanying heat product classification and its working principle
electric accompanying heat system mainly consists of power supply, electric heat tape, thermostat (constant power type electric heat tape), thermostat (variable power type electric heat tape), and junction box, two passes, three passes, the end and other accessories. Among them, the electric heat tape is a heating component, according to its role can be divided into: constant power electric heat tape, self-limiting temperature electric heat tape.
